How to Calculate Your Peptide Dosing

At Vital Peptides, we know that understanding how to properly calculate and administer your peptide dosage is essential to getting the most out of your regimen. Below is a simple step-by-step guide to help you accurately determine your dosing, based on the amount of peptide and bacteriostatic water used.

Step 1: Know Your Peptide Dosage

Each vial of peptide powder contains a specific amount, typically measured in milligrams (mg). For example, a common vial might contain 5mg or 10mg of peptide.

Step 2: Reconstitution – Mixing With Bacteriostatic Water

Mix your peptide with bacteriostatic water. The amount you choose will determine your final dosing concentration. Common choices are:

  • 1ml = higher concentration (smaller injection volume)
  • 2ml = moderate concentration
  • 3ml or more = lower concentration (larger injection volume)

Step 3: Calculate the Dosage per Unit (e.g., per IU or 0.1ml)

Use the formula below to calculate the amount of peptide per 0.1ml (or per “tick mark” on an insulin syringe):

(MG of peptide / mL of water) × 0.1 = dose per 0.1ml

Example 1: 5mg Vial

If you reconstitute a 5mg vial of peptide with 2ml of bacteriostatic water, the calculation will be:

  • 5mg / 2ml = 2.5mg per 1ml
  • 2.5mg × 0.1 = 0.25mg (250mcg) per 0.1ml

If your desired daily dose is 1mg, then:

  • 1mg ÷ 0.25mg = 4 units (or 0.4ml) per injection

Example 2: 10mg Vial

If you reconstitute a 10mg vial of peptide with 2ml of bacteriostatic water, the calculation will be:

  • 10mg / 2ml = 5mg per 1ml
  • 5mg × 0.1 = 0.5mg (500mcg) per 0.1ml

If your desired daily dose is 1mg, then:

  • 1mg ÷ 0.5mg = 2 units (or 0.2ml) per injection

Step 4: Determine Your Desired Daily Dose

Once you know the concentration of your peptide, you can calculate the appropriate dose for your daily regimen, as shown in the examples above.

Always double-check your math or consult a medical professional if unsure.
